मनीष वैद्य जी का जन्म 16 अगस्त 1970, धार (म.प्र.) में हुआ | इन्होने एम ए, एम फिल (हिंदी साहित्य) तथा राहुल सांकृत्यायन पर शोध किया है |
इनकी हंस, पहल, कथादेश, वागर्थ, नया ज्ञानोदय, पाखी, कथाक्रम, इन्द्रप्रस्थ भारती, अकार, बहुवचन, लमही, पूर्वग्रह, परिकथा सहित महत्त्वपूर्ण पत्रिकाओं में सौ से ज़्यादा कहानियाँ प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं । कुछ रचनाओं का पंजाबी, मलयालम और उड़िया में अनुवाद भी हुआ है।
इनकी कहानी संग्रह- टुकड़े-टुकड़े धूप (2013), फुगाटी का जूता (2017) पानी और पर्यावरण पर एक क़िताब ‘जमा रसीदें’ प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं तथा कहानी संग्रह ‘फुगाटी का जूता’ को कई पुरुस्कारो से सम्मानित किया गया है | इनके पानी, पर्यावरण और सामाजिक सरोकारों पर साढे तीन सौ से ज्यादा आलेख पत्र – पत्रिकाओं में प्रकाशित व आकाशवाणी से भी प्रसारित हो चुके हैं।
