पूनम अहमद जी ठाणे मुंबई में रहती हैं। फाइन आर्ट्स से एम. ए.। लिखना अच्छा लगता है! बचपन से ही कितनी ही कहानियां, उपन्यास पढ़ डाले हैं, फिर महसूस किया कि किताबों की एक अलग दुनिया है, अपनी इस खोज के बाद मैं कब पढ़ते पढ़ते कहानी लिखने की चपेट में आ गयी, पता ही नहीं चला ! फिर बस, कलम उठायी, कागज़ लिया और अपनी एक नई दुनिया खड़ी कर ली। 15 वर्षों से लेखन के क्षेत्र में सक्रिय। कई प्रतिष्ठित पत्रिकाओं और समाचार पत्रों में साढ़े पांच सौ कहानियां और दो सौ लेख प्रकाशित। तीन कहानी संग्रह, प्रतिष्ठित पत्रिकाओं से ‘बेस्ट स्टोरी ऑफ़ द ईयर’ पुरस्कार मिला है। डिजिटल थिएटर पर कई कहानियों का नाट्य मंचन।
