About Author – Bhishm Singh Sahani
Bhishm Singh Sahni joined the freedom movement at an early age. He participated in the Quit India Movement of 1942 and served time in jail, went on to become a district secretary of the Congress. His most celebrated work is Tamas is a novel based on the riots of 1947 during partition of India. He is one of the writers that was moulded in the struggle against imperialism and continued the fight for a dream of social, political and economic equality in independent India.
