“Mausam ki shararat” will take you to a beautiful ride through narrator’s emotions for nature, for his surroundings where he can feel each & every small thing happening around him. And then also for someone special, he accidentally comes across. But will that someone special actually be there to stay or will it only be the Mausam(weather) playing its tricks around the narrator’s mind. A beautiful story by Saadat Hasan Manto & equally beautifully narrated by our guest Kafeel Jafri.
About Our Guest – Kafeel Jafri
Kafeel Jafri is a theatre artist, poet and storyteller. He has done about 100 shows of various plays across Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Goa and Delhi. Born and brought up in Lucknow, Kafeel Imbibed the Urdu language and culture from his elder and from literary gatherings – Mehfils and Mushairas. he has also conceptualized and performed shows around Urdu literature. Some of these shows are Life and works of Faiz, An evening of Ghalib and his Ghazals, Manto ki Kahaniyan and Urdu Shayari aur Ganga-Jamni Tehzeeb. He specializes in the Urdu storytelling form called Dastangoi. Apart from plays and Dastangoi, Kafeel has also acted in a soon to be released feature film, some short films and commercials.

“Mausam ki Shararat” is written by Saadat Hasan Manto who is known to be a prophetic & daring writer of the 20th century & one of the finest Urdu writers. A writer who has felt pain of partition & has put that into words in his stories on the other side you will find stories like Mausam ki shararat amazingly crafts different emotions & feelings altogether.
